BOARD MINUTES

THE 821ST REGULAR MEETING OF THE
BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE SOUTH COOK COUNTY
MOSQUITO ABATEMENT DISTRICT
HELD MONDAY APRIL 12, 2021.


A Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the South Cook County Mosquito Abatement District was called to order by President Charles Givines, at the District’s Headquarter, 15500 Dixie Highway, Harvey, Illinois on April 12, 2021 at 4:05 P.M upon due notice to all members of the time, date, and place of the meeting.

The meeting was opened by the President, whereupon the minutes of the 820th meeting of the Board of Trustees were reviewed. The following motion was made by President Givines, seconded by Trustee Stokes, to wit:

BE IT RESOLVED, the Board hereby approves the minutes of the Regular Board Meeting March 8, 2021.

Upon roll call vote:

Yeas: Trustees Warner, Stokes, Miller and Givines
Nays: None

 

The following motion was made by President Givines, seconded by Trustee Stokes, to wit:

BE IT RESOLVED, the Board hereby approves the minutes of the Executive Session March 8, 2021.

Upon roll call vote:

Yeas: Trustees Warner, Stokes, Miller and Givines
Nays: None

 

Due to the absence of SCCMAD employee, Nikki Cody, Business Manager, the monthly report for the Business Manager was presented by SCCMAD employee, Janet Rogers, Operations Superintendent (please see attached reports). The following motion was made by President Givines, seconded by Trustee Miller, to wit:

BE IT RESOLVED, the Board hereby approves the April report of the Business Manager including the April Bills list totaling $233,508.90.

Upon roll call vote:

Yeas: Trustees Warner, Stokes, Miller and Givines
Nays: None

 

The monthly report for the Operations Superintendent was presented by SCCMAD employee, Janet Rogers, Operations Superintendent (please see attached reports). The following motion was made by President Givines, seconded by Trustee Warner, to wit:

BE IT RESOLVED, the Board hereby approves the April report of the Operations Superintendent.

Upon roll call vote:

Yeas: Trustees Stokes, Warner, and Givines
Nays: None

 

The Board of Trustees discussed item 9 on the agenda indicating the First Reading of Property Disposal Policy. The Board unanimously agreed to vote on the draft at the next board meeting.

 

At this time in the meeting, the Board of Trustees reviewed the Preliminary/Tentative Budget for fiscal year 2021-2022.

 

The following motion was made by President Givines, seconded by Trustee Stokes, to wit:

BE IT RESOLVED, the Board hereby approves the following seasonal workers, not to exceed 1000 working hours: Darius Slatton, Christian Reed, Brittany Johnson, Jakimi Cobb, Jada Weaver, Autney Brown, Elizabeth Graczyk, Winston Hutson, James Sims, Rahmat Herron, Curtis Betts, Brenda Macon, Monesia Camper, Aeria Charles.

Upon roll call vote:

Yeas: Trustees Stokes, Warner, and Givines
Nays: None

 

At this time, President Givines made a request to the Board to exit out of the 821st Regular Board Meeting and enter into Executive Session at 4:50 p.m. The following motion was made by President Givines and seconded by Trustee Warner, to wit:

BE IT RESOLVED, the Board hereby approves to exit the 821st Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees and enter into Executive Session.

Upon roll call vote:

Yeas: Trustees Stokes, Warner, and Givines
Nays: None

 

Aerielle Charles exited the Board Meeting.

 

At this time, President Givines made a request to the Board to enter the Regular Board Meeting at 5:12 p.m.

 

Aerielle Charles re-entered the Board Meeting.

 

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

 

The next Board meeting will be held on May 10, 2021 at 4:00 P.M. at the District’s Headquarter.
